Dr Robin Kiera
This year’s keynote speaker is insurance and fintech thought leader Dr. Robin Kiera, founder of Digitalscouting, one of the hottest insurance consulting and marketing companies in Europe. Kiera helped mediate the lawsuit between Lemonade and European insurtech unicorn WeFox, and predicted the entry of Amazon into the insurance business.
Mr Rusty Sproat
Rusty brings to the table more than two decades of combined experience as a licensed property, casualty, and health insurance professional and a prominent residential real estate entrepreneur in the Chicago market.
Prior to making a name for himself in the insurance business, Rusty spent many of his early years in property development and management, with a portfolio of more than $100 million in assets. Rusty spearheaded his own residential real estate company, Sproat Group, Inc., where he led the charge on several suburban condominium conversions, amounting to $32 million.
After successfully selling Sproat Group, Inc., Rusty turned his focus on insurance as an owner and managing broker of three successful Allstate offices across the Chicagoland area. As a driving force within the insurance industry, he was able to identify key efficiencies that helped to streamline all facets of business management, dramatically increasing earnings and improving customer retention. As a result, he became a respected leader in evolving the technologies and practices that Allstate and a variety of agencies in his territory still use today. Rusty’s innovative approach led to invitations to share his game-changing insight at influential Allstate conferences, at the regional and national level.
Inspired by Buster, his loyal 11-year old Boston Terrier who lives with Lyme disease, and his passion for animals, as well as an entrepreneurial spirit and deep understanding of the insurance industry, Rusty launched, Figo, the first web-based pet insurance company. In late 2012, Rusty sold his agencies to develop Figo as a resident of 1871, a Chicago digital-startup facility and one of nine Google Tech Hubs in North America. In March 2014, Rusty privately raised $4 million in seed money; and in March 2016, he secured $4 million from private investors in a Series A round. Launching in April 2015, Rusty has delivered on his commitment to enhance relationships between owners and pets through his innovative approach to pet insurance and technology.
Rusty attended American University in Washington, D.C. and is a distinguished graduate of St. John’s Military Academy in Wisconsin.
