Miguel Edwards

Allstate Independent Agency Strategy & Operations

Miguel is vice president of Allstate Independent Agency Strategy & Operations, responsible for developing the strategies and operational platform to support the expansion of the AIA business model and increase Allstate’s reach in the heartland markets.

Miguel joined Allstate with nearly 15 years of varied leadership experiences in the manufacturing, financial services, and insurance industries. In the 3 years prior to joining Allstate, he was senior vice president for Cover-All Technologies, Inc., a provider of commercial insurance platforms. He was also an IT director for Willis North America, the third largest broker of insurance and risk solutions for the property and casualty market. Miguel earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Accounting, along with an MBA from Rider University. Miguel is married and has four boys, volunteers with several organizations and is an avid private pilot.

ITA Mission Statement

The goal of the Insurance Technology Association is to provide members with opportunities to collaborate, educate, network, share, and use knowledge related to insurance technology. The ITA serves the insurance technology community as a resource and is dedicated to serving this specialized sector of the industry. Publications and educational programs created by the ITA are geared to professionals interested in or charged with evaluating, implementing, and marketing insurance-specific technology systems or services.

The next issue of ITA Pro magazine will be published in March, 2017. The cover story will focus on the winners of the 2017 ITA Bridge Awards, given annually by the ITA to honor an insurance carrier (or carriers) that have demonstrated an ability to "bridge the gap" between technology and business operations. We will also look at how smaller insurance carriers are dealing with the challenges of competing for customers with larger insurers that have huge technology stacks and even larger IT budgets. The issue also will include regular features,such as columns from George Grieve, the partners at Strategy Meets Action, and Russ Bostick of MVP Advisory Group. Launchpad, the newest department in the magazine and written by Jennifer Overhulse, covers the insurtech world.
